Commencement Date: Friday 28th March 2014

Course Aims: Fetac level 3 course to build your knowledge of how systems work in Ireland so that you can  act as advocates/information providers in the community you are living in.

Topics to include:

Introduction: Accessing information, role of information provider, resources and support available, communications, team work, assessment

Community structures, engagement, active citizenship, diversity  

Immigration system in Ireland  – new developments, costs etc

Living and working in Ireland; employment rights; volunteering

Education and training

Welfare supports system – community, social welfare

Health and wellbeing – map of health system, social supports

Accommodation - housing and rent

Legal system
